Introduction

Melita Marine Group, a leading name in the maritime sector, seeks an experienced Accounts Executive to join our team in Greece, working with MPD Greece S.A. (MPD). MPD specialises in marketing, selling, and servicing power solutions for marine and industrial use, representing Rolls Royce Power Systems, MTU. As we expand in Greece, we require an Accounts Executive to join our team.

Role Overview

The right-chosen candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the specific tasks assigned. The Accounts Clerk will be reporting directly to the Accounts Department Head.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing of Customer Sales Orders / Invoices
    • Scrutinising sales quotes issued and converting these into sales Invoices
    • Ensuring the prices quoted are in line with the company’s pricing list
    • Confirming any discounts allowed have been pre-approved
  • Process of supplier invoices
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage any discrepancies
  • Assisting the Head of Finance to oversee various financial operations, such as the:
    • Review of timesheet reports provided
    • Proper Cost allocation to jobs
    • Review of costs recharges
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports up to the trial balance stage
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations
  • Overseeing and handling MYData reporting
  • Carrying out monthly bank reconciliations
  • Supporting in the day-to-day accounting duties

Job requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of previous local experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English language and good writing skills

Education

  • Accounting and finance graduate
  • Graduate of AEI, TEI or ATEI
